On Saturday November 4th 2006 Amsterdam will celebrate Museum Night (n8) for the seventh year in a row. 40 museums and institutions will open their doors and organize special events from 7pm until 2am! The event focuses mainly on a Dutch audience; this is why this website is mostly in Dutch. However, during Museum Night there is plenty to see and do for non-Dutch speakers. The programme includes DJs, bands, dance performances, food & drinks and of course the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions of the museums themselves. Check out the selection made by Amsterdam Weekly in "De n8 van" section of this website. The editors of this English-language weekly newspaper took their pick out of the many events that are suitable for non-Dutch speakers. Ramon also focused his selection on an English audience.

Transportation

There will be special boats and buses running between the museums during the n8. These are free to use for all n8-visitors: just show your Museumnacht-ticket to the driver when getting on. See the "Vervoer" section of this website for a map of Amsterdam with the boat and bus routes.

The month after...

Fired with enthusiasm after visiting so many museums? Or missed one you really wanted to see? Your n8-ticket is valid for one extra visit to one of the participating museums until December 31, 2006.
